Exports from China rose 5.4% yoy to USD 227.42 billion in November 2018, after a 15.6% rise in October, missing market consensus of a 10.0% gain. China's unwrought aluminium and aluminium product exports surged 41.1% yoy to 536,000 tonnes in November, and was up 11.7% mom from a downwardly revised 480,000 tonnes in September. China is the world's top producer of steel and aluminium. The US has imposed tariffs of 25 percent on Chinese steel imports and 10 percent on aluminium imports since March 23rd. However, a lower yuan has helped Chinese metal exports. In contrast, exports of steel product fell 1& yoy to 5.3 million tonnes and dropped 3.7 percent from October's 5.35 million tonnes. K Exports in China averaged 614.61 USD HML from 1981 until 2018, reaching an all time high of 2315.23 USD HML in December of 2017 and a record low of 12.50 USD HML in February of 1983.
